Industry

Industries are entities which provide and consume some of the cargoes going about the game world. They are semi-randomly distributed around the game world, following a few simple rules that ensure fairly their believable distribution. For example – one would expect mineral extraction industries to be around a seam of the mineral they extract.

Industries are composed of four components:

• Offices – a building in which the management of the industry resides, clicking this building allows to access industry options.

• Input Warehouses – buildings which store substrates for production of an industry, provided there is some.

• Output Warehouses – buildings which store products of an industry, from which they can get transported away, either by a player’s company, or by ‘Other means of Transportation’.

• Processors – buildings which make an industry ‘indust’ – that is produce. Number of processors an industry has decides how much product an industry can make.

Industries may grow or shrink, provided they are serviced. When they do, they will build new warehouses or processors.
